In RES Workspace Manager Service Release 2 (SR2), you have the option to run an RES Automation Manager task as an action. This is one of the best additions you can have with RES Workspace Manager because you can do this based on an event, for example at logon or logoff, or for a specific application.
In previous versions of RES Workspace Manager, you could see if RES Workspace Manager sent a request to launch a job in RES Automation Manager. What you could not see in RES Workspace Manager was whether the job was executed. Now, when you look in the event logs you can know immediately whether a job has been executed or not.
Other additions to RES Workspace Manager SR2 are:
- Checking for RES Automation Manager Tasks that may need running before other actions
- Checking for RES Automation Manager Tasks that may need running
- RES Automation Manager “Run Before” Check Finished
- RES Automation Manager Check Finished

As you can see, this can be a very useful feature. You can stay in the RES Workspace Manager console when you are troubleshooting, with no need to switch between the two consoles.
