Michel RothYou may have noticed that the RES ONE Workspace Management Console has been significantly improved to make it easier and faster for you to find what you are looking for, especially if you are dealing with large amounts of data. In addition to making it easier to find information, we also provide initial analytics on your search results so that you can get to your actionable results as quickly as possible. These enhancement can be found throughout the RES ONE Workspace 2015 Management Console. Let’s take a closer look at one of the most important areas in the console – Applications.

Applications

When you take a look at the application list view in the Management Console, you’ll see that across the top of the screen there is a persistent search bar.

You can also tell that this sample customer has 1731 applications in total, shown in the new applications counts at the bottom of the screen. You’ll see this count in other places as well, specifically:

  • All the log tabs of our security features: Application Security, User Installed Applications, Website Security, Removable Disk Security, File and Folder Security, Read-Only Blanketing and Network Security.
  • The Agents View
  • The Relay Servers View
  • The Audit Trail
  • The Error Log
  • And the User Sessions dialog

Faster and Easier Search

Now let’s say this administrator wants to edit an application to, for example, add an additional AD Group for access. Unfortunately, the administrator can’t remember the exact application name – all he knows is that the application is called ‘distill’ or something similar. It would be an arduous task to manually shift through 1,731 applications. This is where the new search functionality shines.  The customer just enters the term ‘distill’ in the search box, and instantly all applications that contain the word ‘distill’ somewhere, and only those applications, will be shown.

That’s all there is to it. It does not matter if you have 10 or 10000 applications, you’ll be able to find what you are looking for in an instant, and make faster changes that are requested by the business.
