TyriaLast week I had the pleasure of flying to Barcelona and attending VMworld Barcelona as part of the RES Software booth crew. When I wasn’t taking photos of our booth fun-tivities like testing our Parrot Jumping Drone, I had the privilege to talk to IT professionals from all over the world.

I noticed a few common questions being asked of myself and my fellow booth-busters. Which I’ve opted to share here today:

Why Is RES “Cool”?

orange sunglassesOur booth backdrop said We’re the New Cool so it’s natural that questions on the claim would come up a few times. Not to mention the highly demanded new cool sunglasses we couldn’t keep stocked at the booth. Shout out to all of the guys rocking the orange shades in their home towns.

In April, Gartner released the Gartner Inc. Cool Vendors in Infrastructure Services. Which highlights vendors they have profiled as “delivering value to business and IT users through their innovative services and new approaches to enabling business benefits”. And guess who was listed? Gartner recognized the RES ONE Service Store which brings efficiency and agility to enterprises through IT automation and end-user self-service. Really cool huh? If you want to read the full report, RES offers complimentary access here.

What’s That About Security?

One of the hot topics of discussion at the booth was cyber security. Many organizations are scrambling to understand how they can reduce their vulnerabilities. No fretting required. RES is uniquely positioned to help by managing and automating how and where employees have access to specific apps. From whitelisting to offboarding, with RES, organizations can experience better security while still delivering that exceptional experience employees desire. Here are just a few ways that RES helps keep your organization secure:

After all, security isn’t just about things, it’s about people. A slight wink to one of our latest whitepapers, which you can download here.

Do You Integrate with AirWatch?

_DSC0160More good news, the answer is yes. RES is a VMware Ready™ Partner and is integration friendly whether you’re looking to enhance your VDI or manage your plethora of mobile devices.  Thanks to our integration with AirWatch, organizations can predict and deliver the right apps and services (and revoke when no longer needed) to mobile devices based on worker’s needs. Your workers can also access the RES ONE Service Store direct from their Android or Apple mobile device and make those IT service requests on the go, because no one just works from a desk anymore. We highlight more of these capabilities in our blog, “Breaking Mobility Barriers” which can be found here.

vmworld awardOkay so this isn’t a question, but a comment. TechTarget hosted the 2015 Best of VMworld Europe Awards and our customer St. Claraspital Hospital won for Best Desktop Virtualization project. A tremendous honor! St. Claraspital Hospital implemented RES ONE Workspace and VMware Horizon among other technologies to offer their clinicians a personalized and seamless experience across all devices and locations. This way they could focus more on patients. Time and frustration savings for any healthcare organization equals better quality of care for patients, as clinicians are able to get to saving lives sooner and with less distraction. You can read more detail on the award here.

What Can You Do For Us Infrastructure Guys?

infrastructureThink simple. We know you’ve spent years building your infrastructure. Adding in dozens of technologies and building a complex web of services and systems that require a lot of heavy lifting in the management department. We also understand the pressure to get it done quickly without additional resources. What RES offers is simplicity and faster execution through our lightweight automation technology. Automate quickly and without sacrificing quality control with over 200 out-of-the box tasks. See in more detail what RES ONE Automation can do, here.

Who Wouldn’t Want a Mini Drone?

To keep things fun, we raffled off a few mini parrot drones to guests of our booth. When asked, “Would you be interested in winning a mini drone”, we received the common answer… “Who Wouldn’t?” Congratulations to all of our winners last week. I hope you have as much fun playing with your drone as we did.winners vmworld drone

The Technical Stuff

The event was…well eventful and being only one person, I couldn’t be everywhere. But as any good social media person would, I caught up on the action I missed by following the conversations on Twitter at #VMworld and watched the recaps online – which I highly recommend.

All in all I had a great time at VMworld. I was inspired to become fluent in a second language and made some connections along the way. But my favorite takeaway was hearing direct from IT pros like you, what is top of mind for 2016 in driving operational excellence around the digital workspace.

Let’s not stop the conversation now that VMworld is over. Share in the comments what’s next on your to-do list for delivering the digital experience your users will love while empowering your IT teams.
